Sample-based longitudinal discrete choice experiments: preferences for electric vehicles over time

چکیده

Abstract Discrete choice experiments have emerged as the state-of-the-art method for measuring preferences, but they are mostly used in cross-sectional studies. In seeking to make them applicable longitudinal studies, our study addresses two common challenges: working with different respondents and handling altering attributes. We propose a sample-based discrete experiment combination covariate-extended hierarchical Bayes logit estimator that allows one test statistical significance of changes. showcase this method’s use studies about preferences electric vehicles over six years empirically observe develop an unpredictable, non-monotonous way. also find inspecting only absolute differences between samples may result misleading inferences. Moreover, surveying new sample produced similar results asking same time. Finally, we experimentally how adding or removing attribute affects other

Use of discrete choice experiments to elicit preferences.

This paper considers the application of discrete choice experiments for eliciting preferences in the delivery of health care. Drawing upon the results from a recently completed systematic review, the paper summarises the application of this technique in health care. It then presents a case study applying the technique to rheumatology outpatient clinics. 200 patients were questioned about the im...

Sample Size Choice for Microarray Experiments

We review Bayesian sample size arguments for microarray experiments, focusing on a decision theoretic approach. We start by introducing a choice based on minimizing expected loss as theoretical ideal. Practical limitations of this approach quickly lead us to consider a compromise solution that combines this idealized solution with a sensitivity argument. The finally proposed approach relies on ...

Ranking in discrete choice experiments

A common problem in ethology is ranking of animal preferences for several discrete stimuli or options. We considered experiments where animals chose one of all possible simultaneously presented options. The animals might be observed at repeated occasions. In the ethological literature the analysis is often focused on testing the global hypotheses of no difference in preferences by non-parametri...

Who should be prioritized for renal transplantation?: Analysis of key stakeholder preferences using discrete choice experiments

BACKGROUND Policies for allocating deceased donor kidneys have recently shifted from allocation based on Human Leucocyte Antigen (HLA) tissue matching in the UK and USA. Newer allocation algorithms incorporate waiting time as a primary factor, and in the UK, young adults are also favoured. However, there is little contemporary UK research on the views of stakeholders in the transplant process t...
